Pruning or trimming is a key factor in maintaining and optimizing the health of trees in an urban setting.
Besides keeping your trees healthy and beautiful, our Above Ground Care services can help the structural integrity of your trees, which can be critical for safety and liability issues. Our ISA Certified Arborists are trained to evaluate the condition of your trees and determine the extent of pruning, cabling, and fertilizer/herbicide/pesticide application they may need for optimum tree health and safety. We can also determine when it’s time to remove a tree that is hazardous or dead to ensure the safety of surrounding property.
Arbor Care Tree Specialists included my family in the process from beginning to end. We had two trees removed and one tree pruned. We rate this company a true ’10’. They are professional, conscientious. They love trees and provide the utmost safety to the workers involved. On top of it all – they are simply good, nice people. We thank you Luke, Krickett, Jon and Eli.

ABOVE GROUND CARE SERVICES
PRUNING: Pruning is the removal of dead, dying, diseased and conflicting limbs to improve overall tree health and safety. Proper pruning provides building and structure clearance as well as elevation over sidewalks and roadways. All work is performed in accordance with the International Society of Arboriculture A300 pruning standards which means we will:
Clean – remove one or more of the following parts: dead, diseased, and/or broken branches
Thin – reduce density of live branches
Raise – provide vertical clearance
Reduce – decrease height and/or spread (consideration must be given to the ability of a species to tolerate reduction pruning)
Types of pruning services provided:
Refracture – refracture over-mature, declining trees
Vista – pruning for view
Crown Restoration – returning tree to original shape after a storm
Crown Reduction – tip weight reduction, windsail reduction
Pollarding – to stimulate growth in one specific area
Pleaching – tying branches together to create formal shapes or ledges
Ornamental – pruning and shaping for aesthetic features
REMOVALS: Cut down and remove hazardous or dead trees. This includes storm work. All trees will be removed with the lowest impact to property while maintaining the highest level of safety using the most current techniques. These techniques are:
Crane Removal – Use of a crane to remove hazardous trees or to remove trees with minimal impact to the understory and landscape below.
Tracked Lift – We use an 83′ HD Arbor Pro – The new CMC 83HD+ Arbor Pro is the only compact tracked mini lift designed from the ground up, specifically for the tree care industry. This allows us to rig down extremely hazardous trees with reduced risk to our tree climbers. It also gives us the ability to be more efficient while piecing the tree down in more manageably sized pieces.
Climbing & Rigging – Using advanced research to safely lower and rig down the tree with ropes in a safe and controlled manner.
